     Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his cabinet officially resigned on Sunday, Aug. 2. The move is a constitutional requirement triggered by the convening of the newly elected National Assembly. Pashinyan, whose Civil Contract party won a parliamentary majority in the June 7 elections, is expected to be re-nominated and re-appointed by the president. The June elections endorsed Pashinyan’s strategy to reduce Armenia’s reliance on Russia and deepen ties with the EU.
