A US real estate firm announced on Wednesday it is buying the Chrysler Building and will undertake a vast makeover of the art deco landmark that dominates New York’s skyline. Jednu z nejvýraznějších dominant Manhattanu, mrakodrap Chrysler Building, čeká rozsáhlá rekonstrukce v souvislosti s jeho převzetím do dlouhodobého pronájmu. Mrakodrap ve stylu Art Deco, který se tyčí do výšky 319 metrů a má 77 podlaží, byl po svém dokončení před 96 lety nejvyšší budovou světa, než jej po necelém roce překonal nedaleký Empire State Building. Nyní Chrysler Building čeká obnova fasády i sedmiobloukové ocelové špičky s trojúhelníkovými okny.
