Český svaz ochránců přírody vyhlásil rok 2026 Rokem hořců a jejich menších příbuzných – hořečků. Cílem je upozornit na tyto krásné rostliny i některé jejich ohrožené druhy a také na možnosti ochrany a údržby míst, která obývají. Krkonoše navíc mají hořec dokonce ve svém znaku.
